Dr. Devorah Wineberg

Dr Devorah Wineberg is a trauma surgeon at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (CHBAH), where she leads the multidisciplinary trauma team and serves as Coordinator of the International Doctors Programme. She began her career in prehospital care as a paramedic before earning her MBBCH Cum Laude at Wits University. She specialised in surgery, completing a Fellowship in the College of Surgeons and a Masters in Surgery in 2018, and later returned to her passion for trauma, earning a Certificate in Trauma and Critical Care. An ATLS and DSTC instructor, Dr Wineberg is trained in mass casualty and disaster management, remains active in prehospital and international search-and-rescue work, and is passionate about teaching, research, and holistic patient care.
