Dr. Gareth Davies

Dr Gareth Davies is the former Medical Director of London’s Air Ambulance and a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, pre-hospital care, and emergency preparedness with Barts Health NHS Trust. With over 20 years in the air ambulance industry, he joined London’s Air Ambulance as a Registrar in 1993 and has overseen staff education and training since becoming Medical Director in 1996. Dr Davies has developed standards in pre-hospital medical care and pioneered innovative procedures, including resuscitative thoracotomy and rapid sequence induction with intubation. He has served as lead consultant at major incidents such as the Paddington Rail Disaster and the 7/7 London bombings. Dr Davies is also Chair of the London’s Air Ambulance Charity, a Director of EMSC, and Honorary Consultant for Kent Surrey and Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Services.
