Miss Maryam Alfa-Wali

Miss Maryam Alfa-Wali is a Consultant Colorectal and Trauma Surgeon at St Mary’s Hospital, London, affiliated with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She specialises in general surgery, benign colorectal conditions, and major trauma, combining clinical expertise with a holistic approach to patient care. Committed to education and research, she earned a PhD from Imperial College London on metabolic profiling in colorectal cancer, a Master’s in Surgical Education (MEd), and is a Member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers (MFST) at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. Trained in London and holding an FRCS, Ms Alfa-Wali has published over 50 papers in international journals, frequently speaks at global conferences, and maintains a strong focus on environmentally sustainable surgical practices and responsible resource use.
