Basic & Advanced Suturing Skills with Knot Tying Techniques

This workshop provides an essential foundation for surgical practice, covering both basic and advanced suturing methods. You will gain confidence in handling instruments, tying secure knots, and performing a variety of suturing techniques. The session is designed for all levels, offering both first-time exposure and opportunities for experienced delegates to refine their skills.

• You will start by learning to identify instruments and their particular uses in surgery.

• You will then be guided in tying knots, both using instruments and by hand. We will then cover the skills of interrupted and continuous suturing.

• You will have the opportunity to learn and practise vertical mattress and horizontal mattress sutures.

• We will also be covering subcuticular suturing.

• Delegates will have hands-on experience and the opportunity to ask questions to demonstrators, either as a first-time experience or to refine their technique.
